About Us

Maarten – Founder of Sanctifica

Maarten was born and raised in the historic city of Bruges, Belgium. Though he grew up in a Catholic family, he eventually drifted away from the faith. But God, in His mercy, had other plans.

Through the powerful intercession of Our Lady and the Miraculous Medal, Maarten experienced a profound conversion—one that rekindled his love for Christ and led him back to the Church and Catholic tradition.

This renewed faith set him on an extraordinary path. Not long after his conversion, he entered a traditional Redemptorist monastery, dedicating the next ten years of his life to the pursuit of the priesthood.

Yet, God’s call led him in a new direction—the vocation of marriage. Today, Maarten is happily married and the proud father of seven children. He now lives in Kansas City, where he remains deeply committed to his Catholic faith and the preservation of tradition in the modern world.

As the founder of Sanctifica, Maarten brings his years of formation in Catholic spirituality and his firsthand experience of integrating Catholic tradition into family life. His mission is simple: to help Catholics stay connected to the Church’s sacred rhythms, no matter where life takes them.

Matthew – Co-Founder of Sanctifica

Matthew grew up in Texas, where he was raised in the Catholic faith. In his early twenties, his appreciation for both Catholic tradition and technology deepened, shaping the path he would later follow. As he grew in his faith, he also recognized the potential of technology to create meaningful impact—an insight that would eventually lead him to develop tools that serve the Church and its mission.

After marrying his wife in Texas, Matthew moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he now lives with his family. A skilled Software Architect, he has spent his career building and designing software solutions, always driven by the goal of creating value and impact through technology. His passion lies not just in writing code, but in crafting tools that improve lives and serve a greater purpose.

At home, his family homeschools their five children. Balancing his technical expertise with his role as a husband and father, he understands the need for practical, faith-centered tools that help Catholics stay connected to the Church’s traditions in the midst of modern life.

As co-founder of Sanctifica, Matthew brings his technical vision and problem-solving mindset to the mission of strengthening Catholic tradition in the digital age. By creating a dynamic and accessible tool for prayer, devotions, and liturgical living, he hopes to equip Catholics with the resources they need to grow in holiness—one prayer at a time.
